ABOUT JOSPEH WARREN
Joseph Warren has spent the past decade returning fully to his lifelong practice of painting. With time to explore the subjects that have long held his attention, he has developed a steady studio rhythm while continuing to refine his work.
Warren retired from Walt Disney Imagineering in 2013 after a distinguished career as Lead Creative Designer and Principal Concept Designer. In that role, he led artists and creative teams while contributing concept artwork for themed environments across the Walt Disney World portfolio. His work supported the development of theme parks, attractions, resorts, and Disney Cruise Line projects, and many of his designs remain on view throughout Disney properties.
He earned both his MA and MFA in Painting, Drawing and Design from the University of Wisconsin. Early in his career, he taught drawing at Wayne State University, then later served as Head of the Department of Fine Art at Kenyatta University in Nairobi, where he also taught painting and drawing. His work has been exhibited in the United States and abroad.
Before joining Walt Disney Imagineering, Warren spent eight years in hospitality design, working as an interior designer for Holiday Inns in Memphis. He now lives in Central Florida with his wife, Lori, near their children and grandchildren.
